Navigating the kitchen
Our kitchen is a good size, and reasonably stocked (especially for vacation rental standards) so you may not find pots, pans and utensils in the places where you expect them, only because the layout is different from what you are used to. Don’t panic.
Everything has been laid out and placed where it is by an exceptionally experienced cook, for good reason. You will usually find photos inside the kitchen cabinets of their contents, so please use them as a guide, and try to put things back where they belong, even if it may feel wrong. Our next guest, and our cleaners, will thank you.
Oh yes! Expect that the previous guests DIDN’T put back ANYTHING where it belongs, and it may be hiding somewhere else, other than what the pictures indicate. Who knows what a 10-year-old may do while emptying a dishwasher?
Most importantly, do expect things to be different from what you are used to at home. That’s just normal.
Nothing is more disappointing to us to get a guest comment after their stay that they could have used a Fripple-Flapper. Only they didn’t find it, because they didn’t look in the tray under the stove! (You do know that that is where Fripple-Flappers are stored, right?)
