It’s a vacation villa, not your home!

After distorted expectations, or forgetting that the villa won’t look just like it did in its online pictures, here’s the next most common mistake a few odd guests make.

They forget where they are!

A vacation rental villa is not their home. Nor is it the equivalent of it. It can’t be. So it can’t possibly be setup as perfectly for each guest as their own home already is.

Honestly, if I lived in the villa, I would change it, because for day to day living, in the long term, it could certainly be built differently. I would give it larger bathrooms… I would want more storage… that kind of thing.

If you’re coming from a nice home, one that you are lucky enough to live in all the time, you may be expecting that the villa will be an equivalent of your home… or even nicer… perhaps in terms of size, finishing, fixtures or appointments. But it won’t be!

As my wife Donna likes to put it, “It’s not the most fabulous home, but that’s the wrong way to think about it. It’s one of the greatest hotel rooms you’re ever going to experience!”

There are wisdom in those words, so please keep them in mind, and remember that your vacation rental home may not be the equivalent of your own regular home… and that’s okay.

What it is, is a fabulous place to stay temporarily, and use as a base for your Florida Adventure! For that purpose, it’s great!

And it’s far superior to a hotel room. Especially for a similar budget.

But it will never be the equal of your own home, especially one you have molded and adapted over time exactly to your needs.

That just makes sense.
