One of the challenges with accepting bookings through third party sites like VRBO, TripAdvisor or AirBnB is that these sites don’t have means for guests to select additional options for their stays with us. All we can do is explain in our information on these sites about the options available, and then make arrangements with the guest afterwards for them.<\/p>\n

This does provide a benefit\u00a0however,<\/strong> in that by doing things this way, our guests are able to save some money.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here’s why:<\/em> Some of these sites add a ‘Guest Service Fee’ when bookings are made, which is an extra amount over and above what we charge,<\/strong> that goes directly to the booking site. These fees are usually based on a rough percentage of the original value of the booking. By keeping options out of the original booking, and charging for them separately afterward, the Guest Service Fee paid to the site by our guests is kept to a minimum. The guest pays us directly for the actual net minimum price for the options, with nothing additional going to the booking site.<\/p>\n

We never want extra optional items to come as a negative surprise for our guests,<\/strong> and do our best to explain about them to our guests early; both in our listings, and by mentioning them in communications throughout the booking process. Sometimes in their hurry and excitement to book, guests don’t read all of the details, and so optional items may still come as a surprise.<\/p>\n

Once we receive the form, we’ll add anything requested to your booking, and send you a new copy of the Booking Details below, updated to include your selections (if any).<\/p>\n

It’s perfectly fine if you don’t want to include any options with your booking.<\/strong> If you want, drop me a quick email and let me know that so I’m not looking out for your form.<\/p>\n

However I will provide one quick bit of advice;<\/em> unless you like polar bear swims, the pool will likely be unusable during winter months without heating<\/strong>. If not heated, it can take days for the pool to warm up to the temperature we like it at (a delicious 89\u00ba F!) as it loses heat in the cooler evenings. Even during summer months, pool heating provides the advantages of the pool reaching comfortable temperature earlier in the day, and staying at a great temperature longer into the evening. Because it requires less energy and causes less wear and tear, pool heating is half price during summer months.<\/p>\n

If Optional Pool Heating is requested, we actually start heating the pool days before your stay, so it will be ready for you immediately upon arrival. We heat our pools to a higher temperature, and for longer hours, than the average Orlando vacation rental.<\/p>\n

It is the normal standard in the Orlando area to charge for pool heating separately, and most vacation homes charge more than we do, just in case you were unaware of this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
